What is the artistic and generally creative challenge of drawing comics in which music has an essentially important place? These are the moments when the limits of comics as an art form are questioned, and this question takes on a special dimension when it comes to jazz.
The turbulent lives and timeless music of Charlie Parker, Billy Holiday, Charlie Mingus, Miles Davis, Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane are an inexhaustible source of inspiration for a large number of contemporary comic authors. Visitors to the Art Salon of the Čačak Cultural Center will have the opportunity to see the works of some of them at the STRIP & JAZZ: RHYTHMS OF SPACE exhibition, which was organized by the artistic director of Animanima Festival Milen Alempijević and the art historian from Italy Andrijana Ružić.
The exhibition will be opened on Tuesday, September 19 in the Art Gallery of the Cultural Center at 19:00, and will last until September 30.
